Publications

Detailed Search:

  • In the detailed search, publications will be displayed only when you have chosen the federal state and the competent registry court and have specified at least one of the following records in the respective box: Company or name or the place where the registered office of the legal entity (sole trader, listed company etc.) is located or the file reference number.
  • You do not need to enter the entire record string.
  • Although, when specifying a name or a company or a place, you must enter at least two characters.
  • When entering file reference numbers, the search key words must contain a sufficient number of characters that a specific differentiation can be made to perform a search.

Unlimited Search:

  • Within the unlimited search results, only such information will be displayed which has been made public during the four previous weeks prior to the date when you have initiated your inquiry.
  • You can limit the search range by selecting a registry court, a subject of announcement or by inserting a specific date.
  • Other ways of limiting the search to a specific range of desired results is to specify the company or the name or the place in which the registered office of the company is located or the file reference number.
  • We would like to point out that there is a large amount of data to be searched through, due to a large number of announcements published by the individual federal states. Therefore, when you are searching within the data records of all or of an individual federal state without any limiting search criteria you can expect fairly extended periods of loading time. We recommend conducting searches employing as many as possible additional criteria.

General Criteria for Entering Key Words::

  • Please type only lowercased search key words when conducting a search.
  • You can also use short key words. (Example: .north. will find North, northern or North Rhine-Westphalia).
  • When specifying a name or a company or a place you must enter at least two characters. This applies also in any such case when you have already specified two characters for another search criterion.
  • In the search boxes for the company/name and registered office/subsidiary, you can use the following wild cards within any string you enter (a placeholder for characters or a string of characters).
? = wild card for exactly one character
(Example: .M?ier. will find Maier and Meier, but not Magier).
    * = wild card for several but at least one character
(Example: cl*ing will find clothing as well as closing).
  • Wild cards are not accepted in any other search box.
  • The search key words, when entering file reference numbers, must contain a sufficient number of characters that a specific differentiation can be made to perform a search. This applies also in any such case when you have already specified a required number of characters for company or name and/or for the place where the registered office is located.
  • You can select a number of hits displayed on a page; 10 hits are selected by default.
  • There is a variety of sorting options:
    • by reference file number: alphanumeric by the kind of register and in ascending order by registry number,
    • by company/name: alphanumeric by company/name and in descending order by date (i. e. the latest publication on top),
    • by date of entry/court.s order: alphanumeric by date of entry (i. e. the latest entry published on top) or by the courts. orders (in cases in which an announcement is not based on any entry in a registry) and alphanumeric by company/name; or
    • by date of announcement: in descending order by date (i. e. the latest publication on top) and alphanumeric by company/name.

Search Results:

  • The search result is a list of all hits returned upon your key words.
  • The list starts with the date of entry the respective publication is based on. If a particular publication is not based on an entry into the registry (for instance in case of cancellation announcements) a date is displayed indicating the day on which the publication has been ordered by the court. The dates are indicated in the format dd.mm.yyyy. If no sorting order has been specified the latest entry or court order will be displayed on top of the list. Otherwise the list of search hits will be displayed in the specified order (see above).
  • Below the date you will find the company or the name, the location of the registered office and the file reference number.
  • The published text first refers to the competent registry court and the file reference number; if necessary, the text will include a note disclosing that no liability will be assumed if reference is made to any business address and to any line of business. The subject of the announcement (for instance a new entry, change etc.) is followed by the date of the entry or, if the announcement is not based on an entry, by the date when the order of the registry court has been issued. You will then find the text of the publication following the records concerning the company or the name, the location of the company's registered office and, if applicable, the business address (in parentheses).

Printing the Publication:

  • You can print the text of the publication by pressing the shift key together with any other key on your computer keyboard. This works only if you have the Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or any later version.
